Who isn’t familiar with the famous “Gorbatchov” collection from Poljot International?
To mark his 70th birthday, Alexander Shorokhov collaborated with Mikhail Gorbachev to produce the first series of the “Gorbatchov watch.”

This limited edition was met with great enthusiasm and has long been sold out. A watch for a man whose face was known worldwide in the 1990s. At that time, his fame surpassed that of any idol. It was Mikhail Gorbachev who opened the “Iron Curtain” between East and West and paved the way for a new era of mutual understanding and respect.

The life of Alexander Shorokhov and the development of the Poljot International brand were also profoundly influenced by this historical figure.

In 2017, another limited edition series of the same name was launched, decorated with the famous slogans “Perestroika” (restructuring) and “Glasnost” (openness), under which Mikhail Gorbachev drove forward the reform process in the Soviet Union. This edition was also a resounding success and led to the third edition of the lovingly designed “Gorbi watch” in 2025.

The difference to the previous models was the newly designed case, which had a diameter of 42 millimeters and a height of 12.77 millimeters. The dial was slightly curved at the edge, making the case appear slimmer. The fresh colors of green and blue would certainly have appealed to Mikhail Gorbachev.

In October 2025, the brand once again presented another color highlight in this collection: the new model shines in bright red. Red – the color of the Soviet revolution, the pioneering spirit, and change. In the Poljot International Gorbatchov Limited Edition, the red dial symbolizes precisely this courage, dynamism, and energy that led the world into a new era. With this watch, the brand combines timeless elegance with the powerful symbolism of the color red, creating a statement that not only measures time but also brings history to life.

Inside the new models is Seiko’s NH36 automatic movement with 24 jewels, a date and day display at the 3 o’clock position, and a power reserve of 41 hours. Strictly limited to only 30 pieces, this watch is not only a coveted collector’s item, but also a tribute to a historical figure and a piece of world history.
